Draw Me To Repentance

I took the picture above last night while on a family drive. I posted it on Facebook with a cute, “Good job God“ quote, made it my new back drop and forgot about it. This morning my spirit was checked as I read these words.

“Then Jesus began to denounce the towns where he had done so many of his miracles, because they hadn’t repented of their sins and turned to God.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

How dangerous our lives have become if the good things of God are mere social media highlights and do not fulfill His purpose which is to lead us to repentance. Whether it is a beautiful sunset or blind eyes being opened, these are gifts from our Heavenly Father meant to draw us closer to Him. In our microwave, “insta worthy” culture, in an attempt to share the good things, we can far to easily take the focus off of the real thing.

“Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭2:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Lord, help me be mindful of your gifts today, but even more let them draw me to repentance and draw me closer You.
