What my world needs…

“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:4-7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There is an older song, I couldn’t recall many of the words, but the main theme came to my mind as I read this scripture. “What the world needs now is love, sweet love!”

How true that song is, although the author probably wasn’t thinking of the kind of love depicted in this scripture. What our world truly needs is more patience, kindness. We need less jealousy, pride and rudeness. We need hope!

God is love and it all boils down to the simple truth that we need more of him. Those who have been born again are filled with this love and have the opportunity to spread this love to a very hurting and lost world.

Today, as you drive to work, as you fix your children’s lunch, as you sit in a long meeting or class lecture, remember what love actually is. Our world is in desperate need of true love!!

Lord, let me be love to this world. Let me show patience, kindness, humility and hope.
