This world tries very hard to push what the perfect Valentine’s Day is and the best way to express love. This push often falls short and leaves people feeling empty and searching for more.
True love is so much more than flowers, sweets and huge stuffed animals. While those things are nice it is much easier to buy a bear and forget about the true marks of love.
Love is…
Patient. Kind. Hopeful. Not rude. Not boastful. Keeps no record of wrong. Not irritable.
Those are some pretty steep qualifications for love. Actually they are so steep that we cannot love without God. God is love. When we allow his spirit to fill our lives we are only then capable of being like Him and loving like him.
“Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.”
1 John 4:7-8 NLT
God, today on this day of love let me love like you do! Let every day be an opportunity for me to share your love.
