With All

“And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.””

Luke‬ ‭10:27‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All or nothing. Withholding Nothing. No exceptions. We live in a world that doesn’t like absolutes. We live in a world where everyone has their own truth so there seems to be no actual truth. This world seems so far removed from this simple, yet vital scripture. “You shall love your God with all… It implies every fiber of our being. Leaving no wiggle room. It may sound harsh and restrictive, but in reality if followed can give one more freedom than ever imagined.

Walking on the fence leads to a very difficult journey. It is so easy to be swayed side to side by our own passions and selfish desires. When we sell out to God and live for Him with all of ourselves it like walking on firm ground. The old saying “if you live for God easy, it’s hard. If you live for God hard it’s easy” is so true. When we try to divide our love we can easily end up empty handed and bound. This world is temporal. Relationships, although a gift from God, can be temporal. Money is definitely fleeting. If we put our trust, assurance or happiness in ANYTHING other than him, it can end up failing. Which in turn leaves us broken-hearted and searching again.

When we love God with all we are able to openly accept his blessings, but keep our hearts and minds set on the one who blesses rather than the blessing.

I pray today you are able to fall in love with Jesus more than ever before. Love him with all and see where this journey will take you.
