“Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

In the story of Jesus birth we read about the wise men who came searching for him. They had heard rumors of a babe being born and knew of the prophecies that had foretold of his birth. So they followed a star and found Jesus.
In my daily bible reading I am reading in Genesis. After people left the garden and began to populate it says that the Lord saw the wickedness of man and that he regretted that he had made them. Fast forward thousands of years and I am quite sure the Lord looks down and has some of the same thoughts.
Just as the wisemen sought to find Jesus many years ago, there are those who are still desperately seeking Him. Many people who have been born into this dark sinful world, but have that God given desire to find wholeness. It can only be found in Him; so they seek. They seek riches and fame; relationships and recognition only to find it was not really what they were looking for.
Just like the wisemen, they need a star. They need someone to shine bright in this dark world and lead them to Jesus.
“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
