“See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
1 Thessalonians 5:15-18 ESV
Such simple commandments. They are clear, concise and to the point. Easy enough, right?!? These words, if followed, can transform our lives and in turn transform the world around us. Funny how it seems so simple right now with my coffee and quiet time, yet in the middle of the chaos of life those words seem much more challenging. Yet, still they are plain, concise and simple. Do good, rejoice always, pray without ceasing and give thanks.
Today, no matter what this crazy life throws at us remember that this scripture is not exempt from any situation. It is appropriate for whatever life brings. In a world full of hate and fear these commandments bring peace to the doer and those around them. The beautiful simplicity of it is that even in the most trying of moments His word can be a rock. Do good! Rejoice always! Keep praying! Give thanks!
