“Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.”
2 Timothy 2:21 ESV
I really enjoy baking. I am by no means an expert and often have more Pinterest fails then successes, but none the less I enjoy the process and the reward of baking. When I bake a prefer to start with a clean kitchen, nothing is more frustrating than having to wash utensils as the recipe calls for them. I have a daycare so it seems that dishes are a never ending cycle, but when everything is washed and ready it makes cooking and baking much more enjoyable and possible.
I believe that we are all called for a specific purpose. 2 Timothy 1:9 says, he called us according to his own purpose. We are called to be used in His kingdom, but often we let ourselves get in the way of the calling God has placed on our life.
If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.
2 Timothy 2:21 (NLT)
The scripture says if we keep ourself pure, if we cleanse ourselves from what is dishonorable, then we will be a vessel for the master. He created us and designed us for a part in his kingdom, but we must be diligent about staying pure and being ready when he calls. So often life happens, situations arise and sin takes a foot hold into our lives. If we continue in this behavior rather than repent and run to God, we make ourselves unuseful for his purpose.
Today, whatever may be holding you back from your full potiental in Him, lay it aside. Through repentance allow the blood cover and wash away all the mistakes of the past. It is then, when we have allowed the cleansing from his blood to renew us, that we are pure and ready to be used in his kingdom.
