“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV
At the risk of sounding like one of those product pushing blogs I want to talk today about a song I heard. I was browsing through iTunes and happened upon an album “Be Held: Lullabies for the beloved” by Christy Nockels. In particular the song “How can I ask for more?” struck a chord with me. I have listened to the song over and over and tears have welled in my eyes each time. A sense of gratitude and blessing overwhelmed me while listening.
The premise of the song is to enjoy God’s little blessings. Many of which I honestly pass up during the hustle and the bustle of toddler life. It is a reminder to us all of the many blessings from God. Not just blessings in general, but specifically the little ones that add up to such a joyous walk with Him.
I realize it is so easy for me to ask the question “How could you ask for more?” while I sip warm coffee in my healthy home with my sweet family sleeping downstairs, but someday most likely as we are all humans living in a fallen world a situation will arise where I will ask God why. Hopefully, I pray when that time comes I am reminded of these words and encouraged.
So take time today to savor that cup of coffee, sink into the lingering hug of a loved one, deeply breath in the cool fall air. Remember that all good things come from above and are a gift of love especially for you today.
