What does your faith look like?

“He listened to Paul speaking. And Paul, looking intently at him and seeing that he had faith to be made well,” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭14:9‬ ‭ESV‬‬ http://bible.com/59/act.14.9.esv

All through the Bible we see God do amazing things to and through ordinary people. Noah built an ark. Moses parted the Red Sea. Shadrach, Meschach and Abednego did not bow. Peter walked on water. All of these stories have a few things in common. One, they are not just stories. These events truly happened to people. People like you. People like me. Shy people. Outgoing people. Secondly, they all had to take action. They had to do their part and God completed the process.

I may be just speaking for myself, but so many times we look at things as impossible because truly in our own strength they are impossible. People don’t collect thousands of animals and survive with them on a boat. Although my oldest son would love to try.  People don’t survive fiery furnaces. People don’t walk on water. All these things are truly improbable and impossible by our own hands.
It is crazy to me that although God can do anything he still chooses to use people to complete his work. He uses us to be his hands. He chooses us to go and reach the world he is so madly in love with. We can’t do it alone. We won’t do it alone. The amazing plans that God has for us will only be accomplished together. It will only happen when we step out and fall into him.

So, my question today is what does your faith look like? What does your first step look like? Noah’s faith looked like hammering the first nail. Abraham’s faith walked his son up a mountain. The 3 Hebrew young men stood tall when everyone bowed. These actions did not seem normal to those around them. These actions were not comfortable. These actions started a chain reaction of miracles that only God could have accomplished. What is your first step? When you take that step in faith he will complete the process that he has started in you. Again, I ask. What does your faith look like?
