Preparing for His presence

Create  in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Psalms 51:10 ESV

In the book of Exodus, following the triumphant exodus of the Israelites the author begins to layout a very detailed preparation for the tabernacle. The place where Gods presence would dwell. From what the priests would wear, the measurements and material of the curtains and furniture to the layout of the court and so much more. Every detail is precise and intentional. All with an intent to prepare a place for His presence. The Israelites were expecting the presence of God and awaiting his arrival.

Far too many times in my life I “show up” and then want God to move miraculously in my life. What preparations have I made in my heart and life for the king of kings. Repentance prepares a place for the king. Only when I first come before him with a repentant heart can he begin to do the miraculous in my life.
